Diagnostic Waxing

A diagnostic wax up is required for any situation where a significant modification of tooth form is required.

1. Esthetic diagnostic wax ups provide a prototype for anterior esthetic diagnosis and provisional fabrication.
2. It is recommended that for complex anterior diagnostic wax ups, provide 2 models of the arch to be waxed so a comparison model is maintained. In addition a face bow or stick bite is recommended to minimize the possibility of anterior canting. For complex repositioning cases, pre-prepared models are also recommended.
